Blood Draw Service
Athena Diagnostics has made is easy to get your specimen collected and sent to our lab for testing. There are two ways to have your specimen collected.
1. Home Blood Draw. If eligible, Athena will send a phlebotomist to your home or other convenient location to draw your blood at no charge to you. This service is available for all blood and serum tests except our Tysabri Antibody Test. The home draw service is available to patients age 16 and older. Using the home draw service ensures that your sample will be sent to Athena for testing. Some restrictions may apply.1
Setting up a blood draw is easy
Once your doctor’s office has completed the Access Athena™ Requisition form, it just needs to be faxed to (866) 223-1247. This number is also easily found at the bottom of the first page of the requisition. It’s important to make sure your address and insurance information is completed on the form. This prevents possible delays.
2. Laboratory Draw. Your doctor’s office may send you to a hospital laboratory or other reference laboratory to have your blood drawn. That lab will then send the blood specimen to Athena for processing.
1. Certain statutes and regulations prohibit participation in Athena’s blood draw program. Those affected by such statutes and regulations will be indentified by Athena’s specimen collection concierge service and separate arrangements will need to be made.
